love for everything gingham

Whenever I’m in some sort of a style crisis my go-to print is/has always been "GINGHAM" because I feel like you can style it however you want, for example, you could go for a head-to-toe gingham look like I did here or play it safe and pair it with nude colors such as a skirt or pants. Although personally I have always loved this print and have worn it on many occasions, in fact whenever I am out shopping I automatically gravitate towards this print. This explains the dedicated gingham section in my closet haha. My love for gingham has always put me in uncomfortable-tinged-with-a-bit-of-embarrassment situations because let’s face it; it is redolent of a tablecloth, right? And on many occasions, I have been jokingly accused by people that I stole their apron or table cloth or all the other things that can possibly be made out of this undervalued fabric! lol. Earlier such occasions would get me a little offended but now I know just how to get them to stop doing that which is pretty simple, you just agree with them + have a good laugh and forget about the whole thing. BUT still never giving up wearing it!!

I’m sure we all have been commented on or suggested to change our supposedly delinquent ways, and it not only applies to trivial things as to how you dress but to things of much higher importance like for example what career you choose, the situations might be different but all that is expected from us is to tread on the path deemed fit by others, but what worked for them might not for us right?! So I suggest you be the black sheep and not in any way feel patronized by anyone and yes, this is what I would say to all the other budding bloggers out there, be weird be distinguishable BE A FASHION RENEGADE!

Wow, I didn’t know that my thoughts on a trivial gingham-related subject would get me to go so deep! One more reason to love gingham!

(Lowkey) gearing up for the weekend hope everyone else is!

I rarely am out in the sun since I started working, but on rare occasions when it is like really really mandatory I go out like I did the other day and my, I couldn't believe how hot it had become! I listen to people complaining about hot it is outside and blah blah all the time, but I got to experience it first hand on that day. And so as a result I have red cheeks and a tanned nose (just pointed out by a friend) lol, I wish it was fall already because going out in this heat is such an ordeal I swear; I have so many errands to run, get my passport docs. submitted but just a quick look out of the window and I'm already huffing and puffing and wiping imaginary sweat from my forehead.

I don't get why people are like, "Omg I love summer, I wish it was summer forever." I don't like summers one bit! 'cause a) You can't have too much tea, b) tanning c) can't take a blanket at night (I have to; no matter the weather/season cause I have this fear of getting murdered if I'm not under the covers lol)

Anyway so speaking of these pictures, these were taken a while back when roses were still in bloom  :( I have always had a fetish for lace and it is all the more better when it is in red! This skirt is my staple and I just can't stop twirling when I'm wearing it.

Hope you all are having a pretty good week so far.

Pastel Love

Wearing: coat, dress, bag- vintage

So it’s Saturday and I just noticed that I have a higher propensity to post on the weekends than on any other day haha maybe it’s ascribed to the idea of me spending my day lazing around; which is how I usually spend my Sundays, and speaking of Sundays I remember I wrote about a possible trip to my local thrift store in my last post and grudgingly I did pay a visit; grudgingly not ‘cause I didn’t want to but the hot weather kind of tried being a hindrance, but I went nevertheless and I gotta say it was the most successful haul in like forever! I got my hands on everything that I had a mental picture of hoping to get once I was there.

I got a smock dress in plaid; I have always loved smock dresses because it allows movement and also you could go overboard on eating and drinking ‘cause it easily disguises the most dreaded “Food Baby” lol I also got a plaid pinafore and I’m already in love! Cannot wait to take some pictures wearing it. I also got a skort; a floral one from BALANCIAGA???????? I couldn’t believe my eyes haha, and ever  since I got it I’ve been wearing it nonstop! And lastly, I got a canvas tote; something that I have been wanting for quite a time.

So all in all my trip was a roaring success haha. Anyway so talking about this outfit I as you guys have always known am a pastel lover and this time I tried to pair it with something floral and well it doesn’t look that bad right, I thrifted this pastel coat months back and I love how free flowly it feels and looks, also this whole look is worth less than 500 bucks lol (except for the shoes)

Happy weekend!

Okay so I’ve been slacking off so much ‘cause if you follow my posts on Instagram I posted one of these pictures a month back!! Just prolonging the post that was inevitable lol

Anyway so summers’ here! But it doesn’t feel like it AT ALL!! The day out here starts on a really promising note sunshine+a faint floral aroma just hits you in the face first thing in the morning and before you even try figuring out where it came from it’s gone. Since I walk to my workplace I get to see so many lovely things;that lovely wispy watercolour-like green along the branches of willows; you see it from a distance, and from up close you almost don't. How it shows up like a kind of untidy needlework at first, all those little stitches of green barbing out in silhouette. And the poplars scintillating with glints every time a breeze ruffles them. Come afternoon you see dark angry clouds brewing at the horizon and before you know it it engulfs everything on its way and you are left with a vantage point offering you with nothing but poplars with a stifling, smoky backdrop as if the scene was set for a horror movie lol and you discreetly take your coat out of your bag.

BUTTTTT... all this ends in the blink of an eye and before you know it the sky is a happy azure again – rakishly grandiose; and of course you stuff your coat back in!
So that is how summers’ been this summer, hope everyone is gearing up for the weekend and if you’re like me I hope you have a nice sleep in!

Snow Much Fun

Wearing:
Gingham Dress- Thrifted
Pastel Cardigan- Thrifted
Boater- Upcycled
Mittens- Thrifted
Scarf- Azul
Boots- Local Store

So these were taken a while back but I hadn't gotten around to posting them because I have been a little caught up with stuffs and also the internet debacle that we have been enduring since an eternity now has been the main culprit, and yes you could always add a dash of indolence here and there lol

It was my wish since I started this blog that to take pictures with snow all around, and every winter I looked at the sky imploringly and every time I was let down. But this winter my wish was finally granted!!! haha I woke up one morning and my eyes was blinded by all that snow! So my sister and I went out for pictures (wearing my cute mitts!!) and when we were done; even though it was freeeeeezzzing we stayed back running around, trying to make a snowman and no matter how much effort we put into perfecting it, it always was left looking crippled lol and yes we made snow balls. So it was basically a good day after a very long time! and so yes; it was a Snow Much Fun kinda day indeed!

Who doesn’t like extempore things turning out to be better than if they were planned right? Well, I’m an ardent believer of the saying <<Go with the flow>> because I hardly ever plan anything! mostly because a) most of the time they turn out to be a disaster b) I’m not good at coping with disasters hah
So just like the trip or the sojourn that I took this past month, these pictures were also extemporized, Dchen and I had just returned from our weekly (sometimes twice weekly) trip uptown and were just way too tired to do anything at all; but then we passed this pretty spot and since it’s no secret how much of a sucker I am for cute backgrounds I had to take some pictures, and I love how pretty they came out! All thanks to my buddy <3
But what really made it memorable (for humorous reasons) was that we had a few spectators watching our every move probably wondering as to what was going on and why was I being so extra about the whole thing! Haha I bet they enjoyed the show though, but we had a good laugh about it.

Happy Monday!

I've had so many things that I always dreamed of doing and most of them I still am working on, some of them felt so out of reach at that particular point of time as they only felt sensible for a second before turning into something utterly ridiculous. One of those dreams of course was to have a blog of my own! I can't say that I'm a god one that cause I have still a lot more to do!

All through my college years I would spend an enormous amount of time venerating all those perfect and dreamy blogs and my heart ached with the feeling of needing to start one too but my insecurities somehow would immediately find a way to quash my blogger dreams.

But then one day I woke up and thought, why not?! and so eventually I did take "THE" step and here I am living the dream! so that was one dream down but there was one more thing that I wanted to do if I ever had a blog and that was collaborating with a fellow blogger haha and what are the odds!! I'm finally doing that too! The collaboration that was long overdue lol

So this past week Dchen of  This Minimal Life  and I went out to take pictures and I gotta admit that I was apprehensive about the results given the fact that our styles are poles apart and we had some uncertainty that we might look out of sync! Nut the results were not that bad and we actually likes how they came out!

So it was a lovely day and I hope we get to do this again!
